It is estimated that 805 million people in the world are undernourished, and about 3 billion people are malnourished.

The problem of food insecurity is not just limited to developing countries. In the United States, there are 49 million food insecure households, which means that 1 in 6 households struggle with putting enough food on the table every day. The problem of hunger and malnutrition has been present throughout history and it will continue to be a concern for years to come as we face an unprecedented population growth of 9 billion people by 2050.
